Deakin University is building for the future of science, research and technology at their Melbourne, Burwood Campus.
The Research Innovation Science and Engagement (RISE)Precinct will continued to build upon Deakin University’s reputation as leaders in national and international research, with the creation of a cutting edge, multi-disciplinary research facilities and highly flexible learning and teaching spaces. The construction of a new multi-level building, together with the refurbishment of existing buildings L and T will create over 19,000 square meters dedicated to STEM research and teaching spaces.
In a world of continuing technological and innovative advancement, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills are critical to Australia’s future and Deakin is leading the charge with its significant capital investment.
Currently in its infancy, once complete RISE will be a dedicated multi-disciplinary research and teaching precinct, improving the University's teaching capacity, further attracting both national and international students alike.
As is the Deakin culture, the Precinct will continue to foster the University’s philosophy of collaboration. The co-location of schools will seamlessly allow for transition between study disciplines and support the ongoing growth of research at the Burwood campus.
Purposefully designed spaces for industry collaboration and commercial research partnerships within the Precinct will further strengthen employment pathways for students by creating strong linkages between business and research.
Currently engaged to provide full quantity surveying services, a2m Consulting are working with the University in finalising Schematic Design. The new building is expected to be operational by 2023 and the precinct fully realised in 2024.
