An acute and sub-acute teaching hospital, Sunshine Hospital is one of busiest general emergency departments in Victoria, with the third largest number of births of any hospital in the state.
The hospital offers a range of services including intensive care, cardiac care, women's and children's services, surgical, medical, mental health, aged care and rehabilitation services. Through the Feasibility Study and Master Plan review, a2m Consulting directly assisted with the investigation of existing asset assessment and evaluation, refurbishment of existing buildings and or additions and or repurposing of existing buildings, together with consideration of the construction of new purpose-built facilities. This options analysis process considered the entirety of the Sunshine Hospital Campus and identified potential opportunities for co-development and co-location of compatible facilities, whilst identifying potential risks posed by aged and obsolete infrastructure.
Now completed the Sunshine Hospital Master Plan and Mental Health Feasibility Study provides a clear framework strategy to guide the management of services infrastructure, building assets and future capital investment within the Sunshine Hospital campus.
